Albany Pride 2017

What a fun packed, awesome week...

It all started on the Wednesday with a special movie at the Orana Cinema called 'Battle of the Sexes' - a fab movie about how Billie Jean King overcomes so many obstacles including discovering her sexuality and eventually 'comes out'!  This was followed on the Thursday by a mural being drawn by some of our talented Pride Team in the Town Square - with the Mural being officially approved by the Albany City Council!

That evening we were very lucky to be serenaded by the Shantymen and the LeleBirds.  Both were so supportive of Pride and we thank you so much.  It was delightful to hear you singing and watch the lights behind you on the Town Hall.

Then on Friday night we had Bingay at Liberte!

And finally a big thank you to everyone who participated in the events, whether you were organising, performing, donating, or attending - it was you being there for us that made the events so much fun and helped us achieve a huge sense of solidarity and support.
